Music Plus

Recently, we got a feeler that MTN is about to launch something big on MTN Music+ called ‘Next Rated’. Through the Next Rated tab on Music+, upcoming artistes will now be able to upload their songs to Music+ which currently boasts of over 1.5m customers.

MTN is thereby empowering upcoming acts that are yet to be discovered, with a means to expose their talents, build their careers and get access to over 60 million customers for next to nothing!

Also, the tittle-tattle continues that there will be a competition on Music+ Next Rated, where the uploaded songs by these upcoming artistes are voted for by listeners. The artiste’s song with the most likes for their songs then get selected as top finalists.

The interesting part about the competition is that the artiste with the highest likes per week gets his song aired on Radio stations that are partners with MTN and towards the end of this competition, 10 artistes with the highest likes get selected and judged by MTN Ambassadors who will then cut the number to 5. The final 5 artistes then get to upload their songs again to the platform. This time, the person with the highest likes of the 5 wins a brand new mid-sized salon car.

However, we are still unsure about this information but if this is real, then MTN just proved itself an important contributor to the development of Music in Nigeria.
