Activity Status on Instagram is similar to WhatsApp’s last seen feature. With this feature, your Instagram followers can check when you last checked the app. While the feature is useful, many Instagram users want to turn it off.

1. Open the Instagram app and tap your Profile picture at the bottom right.

2. On the Profile screen, tap the Hamburger menu at the top right.

3. On Settings and Activity, tap Messages and Story Replies.

4. On the Messages and story replies screen, tap Show activity status.

5. On the next screen, turn off the toggle next to Show activity status.

Important: This is an account-level change. Hence, you don’t need to repeat the steps on the web version of Instagram. The changes you make on the Instagram mobile app will reflect on all connected devices.
