Reliance Jio has announced its new service called Jio TV Plus at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2020 today. Jio TV Plus is a content provider platform for all the Jio Set-up-box users. This platform brings Over the top (OTT) platforms, TV channels, and other services together for the set-top-box users.
Jio TV Plus Curation Platform Announced With 12 OTT Platforms Together
At the Annual General Meeting event, Aakash Ambani explained the User Interface (UI) of Jio TV Plus. It brings 12 leading global OTT platforms together. The OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Hotstar, Sony LIV, Zee5, JioCinema, YouTube, Voot and many other platforms. All the shows and movies from these platforms will be available on Jio TV Plus. Which means everything will be available at one place, you don’t need to open a separate app to watch any show or movie.
One of the best features of Jio TV Plus is it just needs a single login. You don’t need to login to all the apps separately. Voice search like Amazon Alexa is also available. The users can access to different online apps from various genres from the Jio App Store, which is available on Set-top-box.
The single Sign-in process in Jio TV+ reduces the stress of login separately for different apps. The single-click login process will allow the users to play any content from any apps which are mentioned. It will be an easy process as the user don’t need to log-in each time in a different app.
Showing the content is also made easier with Jio TV+ as there is a menu at the top which is divided into sections like Movies, Shows, Live TV, Kids, and Music. Voice search also gives the best results with movies, songs, videos and other things. And the voice search also works on actors, directors, genres, producers, and mood also.
Jio TV+ offers many Live TV channels and has a lot of great features. Like, the users can take participate in a poll to vote for the contestants in the reality shows. In real-time, the results are displayed on the scene with a percentage comparison of all the voters from India. The similar features are available on news channels and music contest also.
At the event, Akash Ambani said,
“We believe that interactivity on the TV or two-way communication is the future of consumption.”
Along with Jio TV+, Reliance Jio has also announced that it is entering the 5G segment in India.
At the Annual General Meeting, the company has announced,
“Today, I have great pride in announcing that Jio has designed and developed a complete 5G solution from scratch. This will enable us to launch a world-class 5G service in India, using 100% homegrown technologies and solutions.”
