So, is there any way to have an Android-type Speed Dial on the iPhone? You can use the Shortcuts app to create a speed dial shortcut on your iPhone’s home screen.
How to Add Speed Dial on iPhone Home Screen
You can utilize the native Shortcuts app of iPhone to add your favorite contacts to your home screen or lock screen. If you do so, you can make calls to those contacts in a single tap. Here’s what you need to do.
1. To get started, launch the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
2. When the Shortcuts app opens, tap the (+) icon at the top right corner of the screen.
3. Tap the down arrow icon beside the Shortcut name and rename it as needed.
4. Next, click on the (+) Add Action button.
5. Type Call in the search field. Next, select the Call action from the Contacts list.
6. Next, select the contact you want to add to your iPhone home screen.
7. Once done, tap the drop-down arrow next to the shortcut name and select Add to Home Screen.
8. On the prompt that appears, choose a photo or add an icon color. Once done, tap Add at the top right corner.
9. The shortcut will be added to your iPhone’s home screen. You just need to tap on it to call the contact.
How to Add Speed Dial on iPhone Lock Screen?
You can also add that shortcut to your iPhone’s Lock Screen. If you do so, you can make calls to that specific contact with a single tap on your Lock screen. Here’s what you need to do.
1. Move to the Lock Screen of your Phone.
2. Touch & Hold the Lock Screen to unveil the Lock screen options. Next, tap Customize at the bottom of the screen.
3. On the Customize Wallpaper, select Lock Screen.
4. Tap on the Add Widgets and select Shortcuts.
5. Next, tap & hold the Shortcut icon and drag it to the widgets section.
6. Tap the Shortcut icon again and select the speed dial shortcut you’ve created before.
7. The speed dial contact will also be added to your iPhone Lock Screen.
