WhatsApp, the popular Meta-owned instant messaging platform, is reportedly testing a beta version that allows iOS users to customize the color themes of their chat bubbles.

WhatsApp is working on a theme feature to customize the chat bubble

WABetaInfo, a known WhatsApp tipster publication, discovered the new feature in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.10.10.71 update from the TestFlight app.

This feature empowers users with greater flexibility in their messaging experience. It allows them to handpick from five predefined color options, such as green, blue, white, coral, and purple, to customize the chat bubble color within conversations. This customization can be tailored to match their unique style and preferences, putting them in control of their messaging aesthetics.

“This restriction ensures that users won’t select colors that could compromise the readability of their messages, maintaining the necessary color accessibility for those who need specific contrast levels to comfortably read their conversations,” WABetaInfo states in its report.

Users will have the freedom to customize the visual aspects of their chats, enhancing the look and feel of their conversations. This new feature is set to revolutionize the way we interact on WhatsApp, offering a fresh and exciting experience.

According to earlier reports, WhatsApp beta for the iOS 24.1.10.70 update revealed that the company is testing a new theme feature that will give beta users the option to select the messaging app’s primary color. This feature, which is still in the experimental phase, is now being extended to customize the color of the chat bubble and make it even better.

Currently, the theme feature to customize the chat bubble color is available to a limited group of beta testers who have installed the latest update of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app and will be available in a future update to the app. Keep watching this space for more updates, as this story is developing!
