After T-Mobile, AT&T has now started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the BlackBerry Priv. It did take quite long for AT&T to start rolling out the update, but we’re glad the update has finally been pushed out.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the BlackBerry Priv (STV100-1) is now being pushed out via the Over The Air (OTA) route and should become available for all units in the next few days. The update weighs in at 1.4 GB and it is recommended that you download the update only when your Priv is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

The update not only brings Android 6.0 Marshmallow but also a lot of other changes. Some of these include enhanced BlackBerry keyboard, improved notifications, more battery life & storage, upgraded camera experience, greater privacy and security, customized personal data permissions, clearer notification settings, and S/MIME support. The OTA update also supports Android security patch level up to June 2016. Of course, you can also look forward to the usual Marshmallow features such as the “Doze” standby battery life enhancement, granular app permissions, Google Now on Tap, and adoptable storage.

In order to update your BlackBerry Priv to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, tap on Settings and make your way to About Phone – System Updates – Check for Updates. You will then need to follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update on your Priv. Once you have installed the update, you should see the Baseband Version change to MPSS.BO.2.6.2.c2-00007-M8994FAAAANAZM-1.55185.2 and the build number changed to AAF355.

Since AT&T officially started seeding the OTA update earlier today, it is likely that some of you will need to wait a few days before you see the update show up on your unit.
