Yesterday, Google released a new Chrome update – Chrome 87. It’s the final Chrome release of 2020, and it has introduced lots of exciting new features. Search Your Open Tabs

If you are amongst those who keep many tabs open in the browser, this could be a handy feature. Chrome 87 adds an arrow icon in the status bar that lets you see all opened tabs. You can search for the tab in the Chrome tab search option and can directly switch to it.

However, the feature is right now available on Chromebooks and Chrome OS. It would take a few more days to arrive on other desktop platforms.

Chrome Actions

Chrome 87 introduced a useful feature known as ‘Chrome Actions.’ Chrome Actions are a fast and simple way to take action right from the URL bar. On Chrome 87, the Omnibox shows shortcuts to basic settings like clearing browser history, edit passwords, etc.

For example, if you type ‘Delete history,’ it will offer you a shortcut to open the browser’s history deletion page. Similarly, you can type ‘edit passwords,’ and you’ll get a shortcut directly to the Password settings.

New PDF Viewer

The PDF viewer of Chrome web browser has undergone a massive visual change. The new PDF viewer has a sidebar that shows a thumbnail preview of all the pages in the document. Also, the buttons were shifted to the top of the screen.

Along with that, the new menu also includes a new option to view pages side by side. However, to enable the new PDF viewer in Chrome 87, you need to open the URL – chrome://flags/#pdf-viewer-update and enable the ‘PDF Viewer Update’ option.
